Tiger Fall Chakrata Travel Story & Trek Guide

🐅 Memorable Journey to Tiger Fall Chakrata – Beautiful Moments with Mountains, Waterfalls and Family
🌄 That Beautiful Morning Start (19-Jan-2026)
It was around 7:30 in the morning. When we woke up, the view in front of us made the heart happy. A river was flowing below and cold mountain air was all around. There was so much brightness that nobody could say it was still early morning time. We ordered tea and started the day with hot tea.
Vasu, Kaki and everyone else had also woken up. Kaki’s own “business mode” stays active everywhere. She came for travelling, but work talks were still going on. The full atmosphere was family type – laughter, tea and the peace of mountains.
🏞️ Experience of the Old Flour Mill Near the River
Below the resort, there was an old flour mill. There we were told that earlier people used to run the turbine with the help of water and grind flour themselves, and then make roti from it.
Water used to come down through a thin wooden channel and because of that the mill rotated. At that time the mill was closed and locked, but after seeing it we definitely got an idea about old mountain life.
👨👩👧👦 Mountain Morning with Kids
Children had vomited on the way, so in the morning they were bathed and made to wear good warm clothes so they would not feel cold.
Daliya was prepared for Paru and boiled eggs were also kept for the children. Light sunlight had come outside and in the cold air, the taste of hot paneer and gobhi parathas was something different.
Sunny was made to wear so many warm clothes that everyone was joking — “Now not even one drop of cold will touch him.” The whole atmosphere felt exactly like home.
🚶 Tiger Fall Journey Started on Foot
Around 10:30, we all got ready and left for Tiger Fall. We were told that the distance was around 1 kilometer, so we decided to go by walking so that body warmth would also remain while walking.
Walking between the mountains was itself a different experience. On the way, small resorts, fields and mountain views were winning hearts. Everyone was busy clicking photos.
Slowly the whole “platoon” was moving ahead in parts. Someone went ahead, someone stopped behind for photos. In the mountains, it feels like time itself becomes slow.
📍 Excitement of Reaching Tiger Fall
After some time, finally we reached Tiger Fall. A board was placed in front — “Welcome To Tiger Fall”.
From the upper viewpoint, the scene below was looking very beautiful. Fields below, our resort far away and even the parked car in the parking area could be seen.
There everyone was busy making photos and videos. Someone’s battery was getting over while someone was in a hurry to go down to the waterfall. Maybe this is the real fun of travelling in mountains – these small-small moments.
🌿 Mountain Fruits and Local Things Found on the Way
While going down, local people showed a mountain fruit called “Melu”. They told us that when it ripens, it becomes black and tastes very sweet.
At first look, it looked like cherry. Someone said it tastes like Chamanprash, someone said it is very good. But when it was tasted, everyone had different opinions.
Mountain lemons were also kept there. Some people were telling that chutney and water are made from them here. Dry turmeric was also kept nearby, which is later dug out.
These small-small local things make mountain journeys special.
🌊 Challenge of Reaching the Waterfall
The way down to Tiger Fall was a little risky. Somewhere there were stones, somewhere slopes and somewhere slippery paths. But the fun was also in that only.
Many tourists were seen on the way. Some were going up and some were coming down. In between, jokes, photos and laughter kept going on.
Ankit had even started calling small waterfalls also as “Tiger Fall” in fun. The whole route was full of laughter.
❤️ Precious Time Spent with Family
The most beautiful thing about this whole journey was not only Tiger Fall, but the time spent with family.
Morning tea, children’s fun, taste of parathas, mountain sunlight, talks on the way and the feeling of walking together — these are the things that made this journey memorable.
After going to mountains, we understand that real happiness is not in expensive things, but in moments spent with our own people.
