Uttar Pradesh Launches India’s First Vistadome Jungle Safari Train
Uttar Pradesh has set a new benchmark in eco-tourism by introducing India’s first Vistadome jungle safari train, offering travelers an immersive wildlife experience through the heart of the state’s rich forest reserves.
This innovative train journey connects the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary in Bahraich district to the renowned Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Pilibhit, traversing approximately 107 kilometers of diverse ecosystems, including dense forests, wetlands, and grasslands. The specially designed Vistadome coaches feature expansive glass roofs and large windows, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes and wildlife. Passengers can expect to spot a variety of species such as tigers, elephants, swamp deer, and numerous bird species in their natural habitats.
Currently operating on weekends, plans are underway to expand the service to daily operations, making it accessible to more visitors throughout the year. The journey lasts approximately four hours and twenty-five minutes, with tickets priced at an affordable ₹275 per passenger, ensuring that this unique experience is accessible to a wide range of tourists.
This initiative is part of the “One Destination Three Forests” strategy, which integrates Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, and Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary into a cohesive tourist circuit. By offering a seamless travel experience across these adjoining protected areas, Uttar Pradesh aims to position itself as a leading destination for nature-based tourism on both national and international levels.
