Star Air Enhances Kolhapur Connectivity with New Direct Flights to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur
Star Air, a leading regional airline in India, is set to enhance air connectivity from Kolhapur by introducing new direct flights to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur starting May 15, 2025. This strategic expansion aims to provide seamless travel options for passengers and bolster regional development.
Currently, Star Air operates 16 weekly flights from Kolhapur to key destinations such as Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Tirupati. With the addition of these three new routes, the total number of weekly flights from Kolhapur will increase to 28, significantly improving accessibility to major urban centers.
The decision to launch these new routes stems from the growing demand for efficient air travel between smaller cities and major hubs. Kolhapur, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and economic potential, has witnessed increased interest from both business and leisure travelers seeking direct connections to cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur.
In line with this expansion, Star Air is upgrading its fleet to accommodate the anticipated rise in passenger traffic. Starting May 15, the airline will replace its 50-seater Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft with the larger and more comfortable 76-seater Embraer ERJ-175. This new aircraft features a business class cabin, offering passengers an enhanced travel experience on routes such as Kolhapur-Mumbai and Kolhapur-Ahmedabad.
The introduction of business class seating underscores Star Air’s commitment to providing flexible and premium travel options. This move is expected to attract a broader range of travelers, including business professionals and high-end leisure passengers, seeking comfort and convenience.
Looking ahead, Star Air plans to further expand its operations by offering a total of 32 weekly flights from Kolhapur to seven destinations, including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Tirupati, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Kishangarh, starting June 3, 2025. This comprehensive network aims to strengthen Kolhapur’s position as a vital regional hub, fostering economic growth and tourism.
