🌿 From Goa to Coorg: A Memorable Journey of Hills, Coffee Plantations and Peaceful Moments

✨ An Emotional Beginning (20-Apr-2026)

Leaving behind the crowd of Goa, the noise of the beaches, and the fast life, as our journey started moving towards the hills of Karnataka, the atmosphere slowly started changing. Gradually, greenery was increasing on the roads, coolness could be felt in the air, and the peaceful surroundings started giving deep relaxation to the mind.

As soon as we reached Coorg, this place started feeling very close to the heart at first sight itself. Fog-covered hills, coffee plantations, fragrance of forests, quiet roads, and fresh morning air… it felt like nature here lives every moment very peacefully.

Coorg did not feel like just a tourist place, but it felt like an experience where a person can feel calm and relaxed from inside.

1. 🚍 Journey to Reach Coorg and Road Experience

Coorg does not have its own railway station or airport, but direct buses are available from Goa, Bengaluru, and Mysuru. For exploring Coorg, bike and car rentals were easily available. The bike rent was told to be around ₹500 to ₹600 per day.

Throughout the journey, roads moving between the hills, light cool breeze, and coffee plantations spread on both sides were making the travel extremely beautiful. Somewhere small forests were visible, somewhere fog-covered mountains, and somewhere peaceful greenery beside the roads. It was a journey where the roads felt more beautiful than the destination itself.

2. 🌅 Raja’s Seat – A Beautiful Morning with Sunrise

The first stop of our journey was “Raja’s Seat.” Early in the morning when we reached here, light cool wind was blowing and many people were jogging around. Just after entering, a beautiful garden can be seen where the peace of the morning feels very different.

After moving a little ahead, an open view of the mountains becomes visible. The sun was slowly coming out from between the clouds and hills. In that moment, there was only cool breeze, peaceful surroundings, and a beautiful view of nature spread in front.

It is said that in old times, the king and queen of Coorg used to spend their mornings and evenings here. Standing there, it truly felt that this place is not only made for seeing, but also for feeling.

3. 🚙 Mandalpatti Peak – Experience Between Offroading and Clouds

After this, we reached Mandalpatti Peak. Here, personal bikes or cars are not allowed, so a jeep has to be taken for offroading. The jeep fare was ₹750 or ₹500 in sharing.

As the jeep was moving towards the hills through rough roads, the views were becoming more beautiful at every turn. On the way, only greenery, cool air, and hills spread far away could be seen.

After reaching the top, the peace that was felt there is probably difficult to explain completely in words. During morning and evening time, the atmosphere here feels extremely calm and relaxing.

4. 🏛️ Raja’s Tomb – A Combination of History and Peace

As soon as we reached Raja’s Tomb, the peaceful atmosphere there could be felt immediately. There are three tombs of the Coorg kings here and beautiful gardens are made all around.

Inside, glimpses of the old royal family can be seen. The Shivling of Mahadev Ji is also present there. Walking between the old stones, peaceful surroundings, and greenery, it felt like time moves a little slowly here.

5. 🍛 Lunch and Experience of Madikeri Fort

After visiting Raja’s Tomb, we tried biryani at a recommended restaurant. Hot food during the journey along with hill weather was feeling especially good.

After lunch, we reached Madikeri Fort, which is located exactly opposite the bus stand. There was no entry fee here. As soon as we entered, old statues, coins, photographs, and historical things could be seen.

The old palace built inside the fort looked very antique and beautiful. Looking at the old stones and walls, it felt like the history of this place is still breathing.

Inside the fort, Kote Mahaganapathi Temple was also seen, where the atmosphere was extremely peaceful.

6. 🛕 Omkareshwara Temple – A Peaceful Place in the Middle of the City

Omkareshwara Temple, located inside Madikeri city, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. As soon as we reached here, a different kind of peace could be felt.

The surroundings of the temple and the silence there completely calmed the mind for some time.

Even after being located in the middle of the city, the atmosphere here was extremely relaxing and peaceful.

7. 🐘 Dubare Elephant Camp – Time Spent Between River, Elephants and Nature

The next day, we reached Dubare Elephant Camp, around 30 kilometers from Madikeri. To reach here, the river has to be crossed, and this is what makes this place very different.

Standing near the riverside, the sound of flowing water and the forest around felt very peaceful. The ticket price was ₹140, and we got the chance to see elephants from very close.

An elephant named Dhananjaya was attracting the most attention there. It was advised to reach early in the morning because later the place becomes very crowded.

Watching the elephants in the water and spending time there became one of the most unique and memorable experiences of the whole journey.

8. 🌊 Chiklihole Dam – A Peaceful Place Away from Crowd

Around 6 kilometers from Dubare Elephant Camp is Chiklihole Dam. There was neither much crowd nor noise here. Only calm water, open sky, and greenery all around.

Sitting there for some time, just feeling the breeze and watching the water, was also feeling very good. This place is perfect for people who only want peace and relaxation.

9. 🌉 Nisargadhama – Cable Bridge, Boating and Greenery

As soon as we reached Nisargadhama, the first thing visible there was the cable bridge. The entry fee was ₹80 and bike parking was ₹25.

While walking on the bridge, the flowing water below and the greenery around were looking very beautiful. Boating, bird park, bamboo park, and games for children were also there.

At many places, small beautiful spots were made where people were doing photography. The market outside also looked very good where clothes and bags were available at very cheap prices and good quality.

10. 🕯️ Tibetan Monastery – A Different Experience of Peace

As soon as we reached the Tibetan Monastery, the atmosphere there completely changed. The beautiful golden-colored structure, thousands of lamps burning inside, and peaceful surroundings gave deep relaxation to the mind.

Even with the crowd, a different kind of peace could be felt there. Sitting silently for some moments inside the monastery itself was a very beautiful experience.

11. ☕ Coffee Plantation – The Real Identity of Coorg

The real identity of Coorg is its coffee plantations, and at “Mountain View Coffee and Tea Plantation,” this experience became even more special. The entry fee was ₹200.

Here, while walking between coffee and tea plantations, complete information about spices was given. Complimentary coffee and juice tasting was also provided, and coffee manufacturing was shown as well.

The fragrance of coffee all around, cool breeze, and greenery made this place extremely memorable.

12. 🌉 Glass Bridge and Sunnyside Experience

The Glass Bridge felt like one of the must-visit spots in Coorg. The entry fee here was ₹200.

After this, we reached Sunnyside, where war memorials, museum, and things related to Kodava culture were seen. The atmosphere here felt very peaceful and well maintained.

13. 🛕 Bhagamandala and Talakaveri – Where Faith and Nature Meet Together

Bhagamandala Temple is located around 45 kilometers from Madikeri. Here, the Triveni Sangam was seen. The surroundings were extremely peaceful.

After this, we reached Talakaveri Temple, which is said to be the birthplace of the Kaveri River. The structure of the temple looked very beautiful, and this place located between the hills felt very peaceful.

Cool breeze, mountain views, and the peace of the temple became a very beautiful part of this journey.

14. 🍽️ Food and Stay Experience
