Saharanpur Himachal Road

New Road from Saharanpur to Paonta Sahib Promises Faster Travel
A major infrastructure boost is on the horizon with the launch of a new road from Saharanpur to Paonta Sahib, aiming to improve regional mobility and reduce travel time. This development enhances road connectivity from UP to Himachal, linking two important states with better and faster access.
The centerpiece of this project is a 10-kilometer greenfield road that will connect Pather village in Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh) to Saundhebaans on the Haryana border. This Saharanpur to Paonta Sahib road is designed to be 7 meters wide and will seamlessly merge with the existing Yamunanagar–Paonta Sahib route, ultimately facilitating smoother travel to Himachal Pradesh.
Currently, travelers from Saharanpur to Paonta Sahib use the Behat-Mirzapur route, covering around 75 kilometers. With this new road, the distance is expected to reduce by 8 kilometers, cutting the journey down to approximately 67 kilometers. The Saharanpur to Paonta Sahib travel time will significantly decrease, benefiting not just tourists but also daily commuters and transporters.
The project is backed by a budget of ₹45.80 crore and will directly improve accessibility for residents of the Chilkana area and nearby villages. It is part of a strategic vision to improve road connectivity UP to Himachal, encouraging trade, tourism, and economic development across the region.
In addition to the new road, a bridge over the Yamuna River near Alhanpur is also proposed. This bridge will link Alhanpur and Nanauli Road to Panchkuan, serving as a critical part of the broader transport network. The Public Works Department (PWD) has finalized and submitted the proposal, and work is expected to begin after approval and land acquisition.
Further supporting the initiative is another key project: a 12-kilometer road from Sadhauli village in Nakur (UP) to Jathlana in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district. Valued at ₹118 crore, this extension reflects the government’s push for fast-track land acquisition and infrastructure development.
This new highway Saharanpur Paonta Sahib initiative aligns with the larger goal of improving inter-state connectivity across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. With better roads, reduced distances, and faster travel, the future of regional travel looks promising.
Stay tuned for more updates on the new road Saharanpur to Himachal and its impact on regional growth.
